The Yogic Code
by OM Das (Ian Paul Marshall)

Just for Today…

(Ahimsa) May I practice non-harm to all living beings including myself in thoughts, words and deeds and may my thoughts, words and deeds be loving and kind in all my encounters.

(Satya) May I have the courage and fortitude to speak my truth and live an honest life that is worthy of an awakened being.

(Asteya) May I refrain from taking what is not given.

(Brahmacharya) May I practice moderation in all that I do, live within my means and strive diligently to not get caught up in consumerism.

(Aparigraha) May I practice the art of non-attachment and letting go. Letting go of my attachments to people, places and things, my need to be right, to control people and outcomes, my fixed views and opinions so that I may live freely and easily in each moment that arises.

(Saucha) May I live simply, cleanly and purely and may my thoughts, words and deeds be examples of that as well.

(Santosha) May I live contently and remember that the happiness that I’m looking for is within.

(Tapas) May I strive diligently on the path stoking my spiritual passions daily.

(Svadhyaya) May I be aware and curious about my self. Mindfully present to the energy I put out in the world, the thoughts I think and the words I use in every day life.

(Ishvara Pranidhana) May I continually surrender myself to the great potential that is within me and offer more of myself daily to help the world and everyone in it.
